Global Health (Single Modules)

We offer a number of standalone modules in global health which cover a range of issues to help prepare professionals in all disciplines face the challenges of working in global health and development in challenging environments.

The modules are delivered by the Institute for Global Health and Development (IGHD) at QMU, with some modules delivered online.

The standalone Global Health modules are aimed at healthcare professionals and managers working in the public, not-for-profit or private sectors, and those working in academic centres or government.

Following completion of one module, you may choose to progress your studies to attain a named award.

How will I be taught?

Structure, duration, delivery and outcomes

Structure: These are single modules. Following completion of one module, you may choose to progress your studies to attain a named award. IGHD currently offers the following named awards:  

Duration: 5 weeks dependent on course

Delivery: Some modules are delivered at QMU and some are delivered online.

Outcomes: Participants of the professional development courses will receive a certificate of attendance from the Institute. A number of modules carry 15 credit points at SCQF level 11. These points are credited to you should you subsequently decide to complete further suites of modules that lead variously, to postgraduate certificate, diploma or a master's degree.
